Bronte Beach
Last updated October 2026
Bronte Beach is one of three Waverley beaches that council lifeguards patrol year-round. Each day lifeguards assess the water and set up red and yellow flags; if there are no flags, no swimming is recommended. For a more leisurely swim there is an ocean pool (Bronte Baths) at the southern end. Bronte Park behind the beach has play equipment, shaded picnic areas, free barbecues, a miniature train track, toilets at the south and north ends, and a kiosk at Bronte Surf Life Saving Club. Parking is limited, so council suggests public transport. Lifeguard hours are 6am to 7pm from October to April and 7am to 5:30pm from May to September. Within a short walk are Bronte Kiosk (about 90 m), Pure Bronte (about 190 m) and High Tides (restaurant, about 210 m).
Facts checked against the venue's own website on 22 October 2026.
