Bronte Baths

Last updated October 2026

Bronte Baths (Bronte Ocean Pool) is a historic 30-metre rock pool carved into the sandstone cliffs at the southern end of Bronte Beach, next to Bronte Park and on the Bondi to Coogee Coastal Walk. Waverley Council maintains it as a free ocean pool and says it suits lap swimming, with a shallow section for children and changing rooms and showers nearby. The pool is open daily but closes on Wednesdays for cleaning: it is drained and refilled with the tides, closing from 5am if low tide is in the morning or from 10am if it is in the afternoon. Bronte Park next door has play equipment, free barbecues and toilets. Within a short walk are G'day Bronte Café (about 190 m), Pure Bronte (about 200 m) and High Tides (restaurant, about 250 m).

Facts checked against the venue's own website on 22 October 2026.
