Bilinga Beach

Last updated October 2026

Bilinga Beach is on the southern end of the Gold Coast near Coolangatta. The City of Gold Coast says the beach is protected, so waves are usually calmer here than at neighbouring beaches, making it a good place to swim. It has one patrol location (Tower 7, Bilinga Surf Life Saving Club), patrolled by lifeguards between 8am and 5pm all school holidays, and on weekends between September and April from 8:30am to 3pm. Swim between the red and yellow flags. Seating, bike racks, path lighting and beach showers line the Tugun to Bilinga Oceanway, and there is on-street parking. Dogs are not allowed within 200 metres of the flags. Within a short walk (OpenStreetMap): JJ's on Golden Four (takeaway, about 110 m) and Golden Times (cafe, about 120 m).
