Volunteer surf life saving club at Thirroul Beach in the northern Illawarra. Its Nippers program is for children aged 5-14 years to enjoy the beach in a safe way, with lessons that guide them towards becoming lifesavers, plus games and activities that promote movement skills, teamwork and participation. The 2026/27 season starts Sunday 18 October (9:00 for a 9.15am start), breaks after 13 December, resumes Saturday 24 January and finishes 14 March with end-of-season awards. Nippers wear a cap (blue for U6 and U7, club cap from U8) and a vest. At least one parent or guardian must join for each nipper. The club publishes a Nippers factsheet and calendar to download.
