Tea Gardens Hawks Nest Surf Life Saving Club

Tea Gardens Hawks Nest Surf Life Saving Club (TGHNSLSC) has patrolled Bennetts Beach at Hawks Nest since 1931. Its Nippers program is for children aged 5 to 13 (Under 6 to Under 14) and runs on Sunday mornings during school term from September until April. Kids learn basic surf safety skills, with an emphasis on participation and enjoyment rather than competition, and Nippers who want to compete can work towards club, branch and state carnivals. All Nippers complete a pre-season proficiency swim before taking part. At least one parent or guardian must join the club and stay at the beach while Nippers is running. The club accepts Active Kids vouchers, and registration is online through SLSA.
