Tilligerry Habitat
Last updated October 2026
Tilligerry Habitat is a nine-hectare crown reserve on the Port Stephens foreshore at Tanilba Bay, set up to show koalas and their habitat. The information centre is an eco-friendly straw bale building with interactive displays and a souvenir shop, and there is a native plant nursery. Paths and boardwalks run through forest, scrub, wetland and coastal areas; an easy two-kilometre walk on flat gravel paths and boardwalks gives a chance to see native plants, birds and possibly a koala in the wild. A fully accessible picnic area sits next to the visitor centre, and there are public toilets and a car park. Entry is free. Peace Park Playground is about 500 m away.
Facts checked against the venue's own website on 23 October 2026.
