Ross Jones Memorial Pool

Last updated October 2026

The Ross Jones Memorial Pool is a man-made rock pool built in 1947 next to the Coogee Surf Life Saving Club at the south end of Coogee Beach. Randwick Council says the pool is popular with families and children. Waves from Coogee Beach spill over the concrete walls at high tide and in rough seas. Council cleans the pool every Monday without chemicals, although the schedule can change with tides and weather, and seaweed can wash in. Dogs, alcohol, fires and glass are prohibited. Within a short walk are Barzura (restaurant, about 60 m), Bathers Coogee (about 60 m), Sugarcane (restaurant, about 120 m) and Le Petit (about 150 m), plus several more restaurants and takeaways.

Facts checked against the venue's own website on 22 October 2026.
