Last updated October 2026
Free 1.2 km headland boardwalk at Point Lookout on Straddie with ocean views, turtles and dolphins, and whales from June to November.
The Gorge Walk at Point Lookout on Minjerribah (North Stradbroke Island) is a 1.2 kilometre boardwalk circuit around the headland on Redland City Council land. Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service describes it as a gentle walk with ocean views and a good spot to look for turtles, dolphins and manta rays; from June to November, humpback whales pass close to the coast on their migration. The walk also looks along Main Beach towards Jumpinpin, the island's southern tip. Council reported the full circuit reopened in November 2021 after a damaged boardwalk section was rebuilt. The walk is free and outdoors with no set hours published. Check for any closures before you go, as of October 2026.
Facts checked against the venue's own website on 17 October 2026.
