Sherwood Arboretum is a 15-hectare, heritage-listed botanical garden devoted to trees, part of Brisbane City Council's botanic gardens, with more than 250 species of Australian trees. It is a riverside park with grassy spaces, lakes and a boardwalk along the Brisbane River; families can picnic under Moreton Bay figs, walk the avenue of kauri pines and use the playgrounds, including an inclusive nature-inspired space. Facilities include electric barbecues, accessible toilets, picnic tables, shaded seats, taps and an on-site car park off Jolimont Street with wheelchair-accessible parking. Monthly guided walks of about an hour are held. Open 24 hours; dogs on a leash are allowed.
