Main Beach, Point Lookout

Last updated October 2026

Main Beach runs from Point Lookout to the southern tip of Minjerribah (North Stradbroke Island). Point Lookout Surf Life Saving Club patrols Main Beach every weekend and public holiday from the September school holidays to the first weekend in May. It is an open ocean surf beach used by surfers and body boarders: QPWS warns rips and side currents are a possibility, so swimmers should always stay between the flags. Swim only at the patrolled area at Point Lookout, not along the remote beach to the south. No official page we could read gives patrol hours. Within a short walk are The Kiosk (about 300 m), Loaves at the Point (about 350 m) and Fishes at the Point (about 350 m).

Facts checked against the venue's own website on 22 October 2026.
