Opossum Bay Beach

Last updated October 2026

Opossum Bay Beach is usually sheltered from southern ocean swells by the rocky headland at its southern end, but can be exposed to some swells in stormy westerly weather, says Clarence City Council. It is reached through Opossum Bay Park, a community park with a playground (slide, spring rider and swings), free BBQs, a picnic area and a car park, with toilets nearby at 24 Spitfarm Rd. Family picnics and water activities are listed as popular. The council page lists no lifesaver patrol. Dogs are off lead except 10am-6pm from 1 December to 1 March. Within a short walk (OpenStreetMap): The Opossum Bay Store (convenience store, about 120 m).
