Surf life saving club at Newport Beach on Sydney's Northern Beaches. Newport Nippers is the club's junior activities program for children aged 5 to 13 (Under 6 to Under 13), run on Sunday mornings with the aim of teaching children to be competent and safe in the beach and surf environment. Surf knowledge and techniques are introduced by age and ability, and at 13 (U14) Nippers can gain their Surf Rescue Certificate. Beach coaching is available from U6 and water coaching from U9. The 2026-27 calendar has swim proficiencies on 18 October and Nippers at 9am from 25 October. At least one parent or carer must join as a member, registrations are online only, and a parent must stay on the beach throughout Nippers.
