Lower Davies Creek camping area, Davies Creek National Park

Last updated October 2026

Lower Davies Creek camping area sits among granite boulders in open woodland beside the clear water of Davies Creek, in Davies Creek National Park off the Kennedy Highway between Kuranda and Mareeba. It has 8 tent sites a short walk from the car parks (up to 10 people per group), picnic tables and wheelchair-accessible non-flush toilets, with partial shade and swimming. No campfires or generators, and no caravans: the gravel road is corrugated. Bring drinking water and a fuel stove; there is no mobile coverage. Bookings are essential: $7.75 per person or $31 per family per night, children under 5 free. 2 km further on, the Davies Creek Falls circuit (1.1 km, Grade 3) leads to lookouts over the 50 m falls and a creek-side swimming spot; stay behind the barriers, as deaths have occurred there.

Facts checked against the venue's own website on 23 October 2026.
