Lake Barrine Boat Cruise

The Lake Barrine Teahouse runs a 45-minute guided boat cruise on Lake Barrine, a volcanic crater lake surrounded by World Heritage rainforest in Crater Lakes National Park, about 60 km from Cairns. The skipper talks about the lake's volcanic origins and its plants and animals, and on the way you may spot turtles, eels, waterbirds, snakes and platypus. The boat is fully shaded. Cruises run 7 days a week, departing at 10am, 11am, 12pm and 1pm. Tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for children. The family-run teahouse beside the jetty serves breakfast, lunch and Devonshire teas, and the twin kauri pines walk starts nearby.
