Surf life saving club on the foreshore at Glenelg. Children can join Nippers from age five, grouped by age from Under 6/7 to Under 13, learning surf awareness and safety through the surf education program. Activities include board paddling, surfing, wading, swimming, sprinting and games, and U8 to U13 can compete at metropolitan carnivals; U13s complete their Resuscitation Certificate. Nippers run weekly in summer on Saturday afternoons (1:45pm to 4pm, mornings in January) on the beach in front of the club. Nippers is not swimming lessons: each child must pass their age group's proficiency each year. A free Come and Try session can be any Saturday. Nipper membership is $100 plus a nipper parent membership of $80 (2026/27).
