Kombi Surf runs learn-to-surf lessons at Middleton Beach on the Fleurieu Peninsula, taught by owners Dan and Meg Keelan, with lessons meeting at the van on Surfers Parade. Group lessons last 2 hours in waist-deep water, with up to 8 students per instructor, and start with safety instruction on the sand. Wetsuits, soft surfboards and rash vests are supplied; bring bathers and a towel. Kombi Surf is a delivery centre for NRMA Insurance SurfGroms, Surfing Australia's junior program for ages 5 to 12, split into MiniGroms (5-8, with a parent or adult in the water at every session) and SuperGroms (9-12), run on weekends, after school and in school holidays. As of October 2026 a group lesson is $60 per surfer ($55 each for 4 or more) and a double lesson is $110. Lessons run year-round, seven days on request, and bookings are essential with prepayment.
