Currumbin Beach Vikings Surf Life Saving Club, established in 1919 at Elephant Rock, runs a Sunday morning Nippers (Junior Activities) program for children aged 5 to 13. Nippers learn wading, running, swimming, board paddling and lifesaving skills, working towards a Surf Rescue Certificate at 13. Children must pass a pool swim competency before taking part, and a parent or guardian must stay at the beach for every session.
