Free council rainforest park near Redlynch with a waterfall swimming hole, BBQs, picnic shelters and a walking track.

Crystal Cascades is a Cairns Regional Council park in the rainforest near Redlynch with a freshwater swimming hole, where a series of small waterfalls flow into large pools. Council lists electric BBQs, picnic tables and a picnic shelter, drinking water, a toilet block and a walking track; dogs are not allowed. It is free to visit. Council treats it as one of the region's highest-risk natural swimming spots: in August 2025 it named Crystal Cascades among the sites with the most drowning deaths and planned swimming prohibition zones there after community consultation, and it closes the swimming areas temporarily after heavy rain until water levels drop. Check council news for closures before you go. Opening hours are not published on the council page. As of October 2026.

Facts checked against the venue's own website on 17 October 2026.
