Cronulla Beach (South Cronulla)
Last updated October 2026
Cronulla Beach, often called South Cronulla, is home to Cronulla Surf Life Saving Club and is popular with families, according to Sutherland Shire Council. It is the only Shire beach patrolled through winter. Council lifeguards patrol 7am to 5pm (6pm in daylight saving) from October to April and 7am to 4pm from May to September, with volunteer lifesavers helping on summer weekends. The beach is wheelchair accessible, with disabled toilets and free beach wheelchairs to book; a Mobi-mat can be set up. Cronulla Park behind the beach has a large shaded grassy area and a playground, and the Cronulla Ocean Pools are on the foreshore. Dogs are prohibited on the beach. Within a short walk are Waves (restaurant, about 120 m), Cronulla Beach Kebab (takeaway, about 140 m), Miss Jaffles Cafe (about 170 m) and Contendo (about 170 m), plus several more restaurants and takeaways.
Facts checked against the venue's own website on 22 October 2026.
