Cronulla Ocean Pools

Last updated October 2026

Cronulla has two ocean pools close together on the foreshore, reached from Dunningham Park or Cronulla Park via The Esplanade walkway. The larger southern pool at Cronulla Beach (South Cronulla) is an Olympic-sized tidal pool and is the most suitable for general and lap swimming; the smaller northern pool is submerged at high tide and shallow at low tide. Sand and seaweed build up, so council closes the southern pool for a week about once a month for cleaning. The pools are not patrolled by lifeguards. There is an outdoor shower at the pool near Cronulla Park, and toilets, change rooms and showers in Dunningham Park and at Cronulla Beach. Dogs are prohibited. Within a short walk are Miss Jaffles Cafe (about 190 m), Waves (restaurant, about 190 m), Ham (about 190 m) and Sea Level (restaurant, about 200 m), plus several more restaurants and takeaways.

Facts checked against the venue's own website on 22 October 2026.
