Clarence Foreshore Trail: Kangaroo Bay to Bellerive Beach
Last updated October 2026
A short, family-friendly 2 km section of the Clarence Foreshore Trail on Hobart's eastern shore, rated Grade 1 (very easy) for walking and taking under 2 hours, also used by bike riders. It passes yachts in Kangaroo Bay, crosses a retracting bridge over the yacht club slipway at Bellerive Boardwalk, and has lookouts on Bellerive Bluff with views across the Derwent to kunanyi / Mount Wellington; the historic Kangaroo Bluff fort is reached from Gunning Street. Bellerive Beach Park at the end has a playground. The path around Bellerive Bluff is too steep to meet wheelchair standards but is used by mobility scooters. Park on Kangaroo Bay Drive or at Bellerive Beach Park; dogs on lead. Banjo's Bakery Cafe is about 290 m from the Kangaroo Bay end, with toilets about 130 m away.
Facts checked against the venue's own website on 23 October 2026.
