Darlington campground, Maria Island

Last updated October 2026

A large Parks and Wildlife tent campground behind the dunes on Darlington Bay Beach, 500 metres south of the Maria Island ferry jetty, with easy beach access. There is no vehicle access, so campers bring all gear across on the ferry; trolleys are provided at the jetty. A covered barbecue area has fireplaces (firewood provided) and free gas barbecues, and an amenities block has toilets; showers are closed during wastewater works. Water must be treated before drinking. Bookings are not currently taken: from 3 November 2026 the fee is $18 per site per night (up to 6 people), paid at the Maria Island Gateway in Triabunna before boarding. A parks pass and ferry ticket are also needed.

Facts checked against the venue's own website on 23 October 2026.
