Grass Point walk
Last updated October 2026
An easy Grade 2 walk in South Bruny National Park, 4 km return and about 1.5 hours, which Parks and Wildlife Tasmania describes as suitable for family groups. It starts from the small car park at East Cove at the end of Adventure Bay Road, 40 minutes' drive south of the Bruny Island ferry terminal. The fairly flat track follows the coast through open grassland to the remains of an old whaling station at Grass Point, and southern right whales can be seen on migration (June to late October). Supervise children on the boulder sections just before Grass Point. There are no facilities at the car park; public toilets are at Adventure Bay Hall next to the shop. A Tasmanian parks pass is needed.
Facts checked against the venue's own website on 23 October 2026.
