Cairns Art Gallery is a public art gallery in Cairns City with free entry and no bookings required; donations are appreciated. Its Public Curators Building is on the corner of Abbott and Shields Streets and is open Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, Saturday 10am to 5pm and Sunday 10am to 2pm; the Mulgrave and Court House Buildings are open Monday to Friday 9.30am to 5pm and Saturday 10am to 5pm, closed Sunday. The gallery says it offers creative learning programs for audiences of diverse ages, including art classes, talks and events. As of October 2026 the listed classes are adult courses in soft pastel drawing and abstract acrylics plus meditation and yoga sessions; no children's or school-holiday workshop is currently listed. School groups can book guided tours run by educators and gallery staff through the tour enquiry form, and school tours must be accompanied by teachers.
