Yanchep National Park, run by the WA Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions, is a bushland park north of Perth where families can see western grey kangaroos on the lawns, walk the koala boardwalk, picnic and explore walk trails. The 2.1km Dwerta Mia Walk through Boomerang Gorge, a collapsed cave, and the 2.6km Woodlands Walk are described as good for families with children. Guided tours of Crystal Cave run daily; tickets are $16 adult, $8 child (6-15) and $40 family, bought at McNess House Visitor Centre or online. The Aboriginal Experience tour at Wangi Mia, Treetops Adventure ropes courses, golf, camping and Play Trail scavenger hunts in the free Nature Play WA app are also available. Park entry is $17 per standard vehicle ($10 concession), as of October 2026. McNess House Visitor Centre is open 9:15am to 4:30pm daily. Lakeview and Bull Banksia Oval have sheltered picnic tables and free barbecues. No dogs or other pets are allowed.
