Volunteer surf life saving club on Terrigal Beach, Central Coast. Nippers runs each Sunday for about 2 hours through summer for children 5 to 13 years old (Under 6 to Under 14 age groups); the 2026/27 season commences 4 October 2026. Under 6 and Under 7 nippers get a non-competitive, game-based introduction to the beach; Under 8s do beach activities and wade races; Under 9 to Under 14 take part in beach and water events and learn water safety and surf lifesaving skills, including resuscitation, first aid and rescue skills through the SLSA Surf Education program. Activities include wading, board paddling, swimming, beach sprints and flags. An annual Rescue Day lets 8-14 year olds be rescued by IRB or jetski. The club runs a free weekday-afternoon coaching program from Under 9s. A parent or guardian must also be a club member; Nippers does not teach swimming.
