Sorrento Back Beach

Sorrento Back Beach (Sorrento Ocean Beach) is an ocean beach in Mornington Peninsula National Park, about 1.5 km south of Sorrento, known for its rock pools. Parks Victoria says the rockpools are suited to families and some are large enough to swim in; explore them at low tide. Sorrento Surf Life Saving Club patrols every weekend and public holiday from 21 November 2026 to 11 April 2027 (Saturdays from 1pm, Sundays from 10am, until 4pm or 6pm in peak summer), with paid lifeguards on weekdays 10am to 6pm from 29 December 2026 to 25 January 2027. Facilities include a large car park and a picnic area with toilets, and a café and kiosk is open year round. A 40 metre access ramp next to the kiosk leads to the sand, and there is an accessible toilet. Dogs are not permitted in the national park.
