13th Beach

Last updated October 2026

13th Beach (Thirteenth Beach) at Barwon Heads is a Bass Strait surfing beach in the 13th Beach Foreshore reserve, which the City of Greater Geelong describes as a coastal reserve with walking and bike tracks and a seasonally monitored surfing beach. The Barwon Heads Thirteenth Beach Surf Life Saving Club is next to the lower car park; no official page publishes patrol hours, so swim only between the red and yellow flags when they are up. The City lists free parking, public toilets and a walking path. In October 2026 Barwon Coast temporarily closed the Crater toilet block at the lower car park after damage. Hooded Plovers nest on this beach, so follow signs and keep dogs away from nests.

Facts checked against the venue's own website on 22 October 2026.
