The Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens on Lower Domain Road, Queens Domain are open every day with free entry. Hours are 8am to 6:30pm from October to March and 8am to 5pm from April to September. The Gardens' conservatory is closed for restoration, scheduled to reopen in spring 2026, and a new Children's Maze of western red cedar is being planted and is not yet open. The Gardens say they are designed for all visitors, including families with prams and young children, though some paths are steep. Visitors may bring their own food, but BBQs, ball games, tree climbing and riding bikes or scooters are not allowed, and pets are not permitted. Accessible toilets are available. A kiosk and restaurant are on site. Car parks are at the top entrance on Lower Domain Road and the bottom entrance on the Domain Highway.
