Port Noarlunga Beach

Last updated October 2026

The City of Onkaparinga says the Port Noarlunga reef and aquatic reserve shelter the beach from large waves and are a popular diving spot. Its McLaren Vale & Fleurieu Coast visitor site describes swimming between the flags, fishing from the jetty, kayaking, snorkelling and diving the reef, with the seaside village and its cafés close by. Port Noarlunga SLSC volunteers generally patrol on weekends and public holidays from 12pm to 5pm between mid October and mid April. The EPA issues beach water alerts for Noarlunga when the Onkaparinga River is flowing strongly after rain: do not swim in discoloured water. Within a short walk are Port Noarlunga SLSC restaurant and bar (about 49 m), Horta's (about 53 m), Foreshore Kiosk (about 58 m) and Royal Copenhagen (about 165 m), with more places to eat nearby.

Facts checked against the venue's own website on 22 October 2026.
