Observatory Park, often called Observatory Hill, is a City of Sydney park on Upper Fort Street, Millers Point, with panoramic views of Sydney Harbour. It is home to the Sydney Observatory, built between 1857 and 1859 as Australia's first observatory and open to the public as a separate venue. The council lists outdoor fitness equipment, a dog off-leash area and a rotunda that can be hired. Public toilets are a short walk away on Watson Road at the Argyle Street entrance. The park has the South African War Memorial and is a short walk from Wynyard train station, The Rocks and Circular Quay. The council page does not list a playground in the park; the nearest playgrounds it names are at Nita McCrae Park and Clyne Reserve in Millers Point.
