The Ribbon Playground

Playground for older children and teens at Darling Harbour with decks, bridges, a climbing tower and slide, next to the main water-play playground.

The Ribbon playground is a 2,000 square-metre extension of the Darling Harbour Playground, opened in 2024 as part of the Ribbon redevelopment and designed for older children and teenagers. The NSW Government says it doubled the size of the existing playground, which focuses on small children. It has two areas: the Bay, with a series of decks, ramps and bridges, and the Wave, with higher ramps, a climbing tower and a slide, plus seating for parents and carers. The neighbouring original playground has water pumps, streams and jets, an 8-metre-wide slide, ropes and a 21-metre flying fox. Darling Harbour's website lists the playground at 1-25 Harbour Street, Darling Quarter, open 24 hours, with toilets and water bubblers nearby.
