Old Government House in Parramatta Park is the oldest surviving public building in Australia and a UNESCO World Heritage convict site, run by the National Trust (NSW). Visitors see the convict-built Georgian house with its period kitchen, dining room and bedrooms, hear stories of convicts and the first ten Governors, and can book a ghost tour. There is a shop with ice-blocks and 200 acres of parkland beside the Parramatta River for a picnic. Children under 5 are free and a family ticket is $42.
