Rouse Hill Estate is a historic rural homestead museum run by Museums of History NSW at 356 Annangrove Road, Rouse Hill, on Dharug Country. Six generations of one family lived there, and the estate includes the restored 1888 Rouse Hill schoolhouse and a section of the original Windsor Road turnpike. Its family program lists a basket weaving activity with Muru Mittigar, LEGO bricks to explore and feeding the animals. Entry is free, but pre-booking tickets online is recommended. As of October 2026 the museum is open Sundays from 10am to 4pm, and programs may change in extreme or hot weather. It is a semi-rural property with livestock, so enclosed shoes are recommended, and the uneven ground can make pushing a pram difficult. There is limited free parking outside the Visitor Centre, and buses 643 and 740 from Rouse Hill Metro stop a 4-minute walk away.
