North Wollongong Surf Life Saving Club

Volunteer surf life saving club at North Wollongong Beach. Its Junior Activities Committee runs a Nippers program for Under 6 to Under 14 age groups, aimed at teaching children the basics of surf awareness and water safety, with surf knowledge and techniques introduced gradually by age and ability; at 13 nippers can gain their Surf Rescue Certificate. The program also covers competition, sportsmanship and transition to cadets and seniors. Children must be 5 years old to register. All nippers and at least one parent or guardian must be financial members, and parents help as age managers, water safety, officials or BBQ helpers. Club gear can be bought at the office on Sunday mornings during nippers.
