Mount Lofty Botanic Garden
Last updated October 2026
A 97-hectare cool-climate botanic garden in the Adelaide Hills, about a 25-minute drive from the CBD, with paths, walking trails, sculptures and a main lake. The flat bitumen Lakeside Trail, reached from the lower car park off Lampert Road, is the easiest walk; other parts of the garden are very hilly, with steep slopes that are hard going with prams. There are accessible toilets at both car parks. Ticketed parking costs $2.50 per hour or $6.50 for the day (card only). The garden is open every day from 8:30am, closing at 4pm on weekdays and 6pm on summer weekends, and closes on extreme or catastrophic fire danger days. No bikes, scooters, dogs, ball games or barbecues.
Facts checked against the venue's own website on 23 October 2026.
