Museum of Economic Botany
Last updated October 2026
The Museum of Economic Botany is in Adelaide Botanic Garden and shows how plants are used, with specimens, models and creations from across the globe. Much of the permanent collection dates back to the original museum display 130 years ago. Visitors can look for the real fungi among 210 papier-mache models showing fungi at different stages of growth. It is open every day 10am to 4pm, entry is free, and it is closed on Christmas Day. Volunteers run the museum, so it may occasionally close at short notice.
Facts checked against the venue's own website on 23 October 2026.
