Long Reef SLSC runs Nippers for children aged 5 to Under 13 at Long Reef Beach, Collaroy, on Saturday afternoons (3pm-5pm for U9-U13, 3pm-4.30pm for U6-U8). The 2026-27 season starts 17 October 2026. Activities include swimming, paddling, running, wading, beach flags, relays and beach games, and kids learn to identify rips and currents, get out of dangerous situations in the surf, identify dangerous marine life and basic first aid. U6 and U7 do modified, non-competitive beach and water activities. All nippers must pass a water skills proficiency test, at least one parent must be a club member, and each family completes three volunteer duties per season.
