Last updated October 2026
National park near Montville with Kondalilla Falls, rock pools, a picnic area and short and longer rainforest walks.
Kondalilla National Park near Montville is managed by Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service. In the summer wet season Skene Creek drops 90 m over Kondalilla Falls. A short walk with stairs leads from the Kondalilla Falls Road car park to a large grassed picnic area with toilets, picnic tables, barbecues and shelters. The Picnic Creek circuit (1.7 km, about 45 minutes to 1 hour) is an easy walk; the Kondalilla Falls circuit (4.7 km, 2 to 3 hours) passes rock pools and has more than 300 stairs, so it suits fitter families. Never dive into creeks or rock pools. Drinking water is not provided and dogs are not allowed.
Facts checked against the venue's own website on 14 October 2026.
