Seqwater dam near Advancetown with picnic areas, a playground, trails and paddling on the lake.

Hinze Dam is Seqwater's dam on the Nerang River in the Gold Coast hinterland, about 15 km south-west of Nerang, and the main drinking water supply for the Gold Coast. Seqwater describes it as a recreation area with lakeside parks, walking, bike and horse trails, car parking, toilets and barbecue areas. Picnic Parkland in the day use area has picnic and barbecue facilities and a playground, and dogs on leashes are allowed. Other day use areas include Pocket Park and Waterside Park. On the lake, Seqwater lists electric-powered boating, canoeing, kayaking, rowing, sailing and stand up paddling from the boat ramps, and fishing is catch and release only. Mountain bike trails are also on site. Seqwater asks paddlers to wear lifejackets and keep away from the dam wall and exclusion zones.
