Burleigh Head National Park - Oceanview Track

Last updated August 2026

The Gold Coast's most popular coastal walk: 2.4km one-way (about an hour), mostly flat, weaving between rainforest and ocean views along the Burleigh headland. Starts right at the southern end of Burleigh Beach, so it's easy to pair a swim with the walk. Genuinely one of the best free things to do on the Gold Coast with kids old enough to walk the distance. What to Bring Water, hat, sun protection - limited shade in parts Swimmers if combining with a beach stop either end Best Age Range 3-17 - manageable for younger kids in a carrier or on foot for short bursts; a real hour-long walk for primary-school-aged kids and up. Good to Know Free, no booking. Can be walked one-way and back, or combined with the beach at either end (Burleigh Beach to the north, Tallebudgera Creek to the south).
