Glass House Mountains National Park

Last updated October 2026

National park of volcanic peaks with a family-friendly circuit walk around Mount Tibrogargan and picnic areas.

Glass House Mountains National Park protects the craggy volcanic peaks that rise over the hinterland near Beerwah and Glass House Mountains, formed about 26 to 27 million years ago. Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service recommends the Tibrogargan circuit as a good walk for families; it loops around the base of the peak with views of the mountain and surrounding countryside. Picnic tables and toilets are at the Tibrogargan trailhead beside the car park and at the Beerwah trailhead, and the nearby Glass House Mountains lookout in Beerburrum West State Forest has views, picnic tables and accessible toilets. Rangers warn the summits are not easy climbs and rock climbing is only for experienced climbers. Free entry.

Facts checked against the venue's own website on 14 October 2026.
