Volunteer surf life saving club on Cottesloe Beach that runs the Woodside Nippers program for children aged 5 to 13. The club says Nippers teaches children about surf awareness and develops surf sports skills while they make new friends. Every Nippers age group is run inside the swimming enclosure (eco barrier) at Cottesloe Beach. Sessions are on Sunday mornings from 8:45am to 10:30am, October to March, followed by a sausage sizzle in the club courtyard. A parent or guardian must sign up with each child, and children in the Under 8 to Under 13 groups must complete a proficiency swim before each season. Each new Nipper receives a pack with a high-vis vest, age group cap and wide-brim hat. New members join online through the national SLSA join page, selecting Cottesloe SLSC.
