Free ship-shaped council playground at the northern end of the Cairns Esplanade with slides, rope courses and cannons; open all day.

The Fun Ship is a free Cairns Regional Council playground at the northern end of the Esplanade, near the Smith Street intersection. It is built in the shape of a giant ship named Endeavour, with rope courses, cannons, slides, ship-style cabins, a see-saw, climbing features and puzzle games, set on blue rubber soft-fall. The council lists it as open all day, every day, with public toilets a short walk away, free public parking, and barbecue and seating areas nearby. Entry to all three Esplanade playgrounds (Fun Ship, Muddy's and the Healing Gardens) is free.
