Surf life saving club at Avalon Beach on Sydney's Northern Beaches. Its Nippers program is for children aged 5 to 13 and focuses on having fun, gaining confidence in the surf and developing surf awareness. Nippers runs on Sunday mornings from October to March with a break for Christmas; the 2026-27 season starts Sunday 18 October 2026, 9:00am to 10:30am. At least one parent or guardian must join as a member, and families apply online through the SLS Members Hub after 1 July. A Nipper rash vest and cap are compulsory and sold by the club. Fees: first Nipper $240 (early bird $190 from 1 July to 30 September), each additional Nipper sibling $70, parent membership included.
