Family surf life saving club at Bilgola Beach on Sydney's Northern Beaches. Its Nippers program is for children aged 5 to 13, who are taught to respect and read the surf through sand and water activities run by Age Managers, including board paddling and swimming in the 50 metre ocean pool or surf. Most Nipper days are Sunday mornings from 9am, with some twilight sessions; under 6 to under 10 groups do about 1 hour and under 11 to under 13 about 1.5 hours. The 2026-27 season's first beach session is Sunday 25 October. Each child takes a water proficiency evaluation. Nippers register online through the SLS Hub with at least one parent or guardian. A BBQ runs after Nippers each week.
