Albert Park Lake
Last updated October 2026
A large lake park 3 km from central Melbourne, with a 5 km walking and running path around the lake and views back to the city skyline. Nine picnic areas around the lake have free electric barbecues, playgrounds, shelters and open space. The lake is used for sailing, canoeing, kayaking, rowing, fishing and birdwatching, with boat hire and sailing or rowing lessons available, and it is one of the Victorian Fisheries Authority's stocked lakes (120 large rainbow trout in the latest metro stocking). Please don't feed the swans. Parking fees apply in all car parks and kerbside spaces. Nearby: Carousel Restaurant & Bar (200 m) and the Aughtie Drive Adventure Playground (390 m).
Facts checked against the venue's own website on 23 October 2026.
