Woonona Surf Life Saving Club

Last updated October 2026

Volunteer surf life saving club at Woonona Beach in the northern Illawarra. Its Junior Activities program, the Stingrays, gives children aged 5 to 14 a safe, organised and fun place to learn surf safety and survival skills such as reading a rip, managing a board and understanding the water. Trained volunteers guide kids through sun and surf safety, wading, swimming, board paddling, first aid and lifesaving skills like CPR and water rescues. Sessions run fortnightly on Sunday mornings from October to March with a Christmas break; the 2026-27 season runs Sunday 18 October to Sunday 28 March. Every nipper completes a pool swim and float evaluation, and at least one parent must also join. Nippers can also compete at carnivals.

Facts checked against the venue's own website on 23 October 2026.
