Lookout on a 2.3km return rainforest walk in Burleigh Head National Park, Burleigh Heads, with seasonal whale watching.

Tumgun Lookout is on the Rainforest circuit in Burleigh Head National Park, a 27.6ha park managed by Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service. The Rainforest circuit is a 2.3km return Grade 3 walk (about 45 minutes) that is easy for most of the way, with a steep section near the lookout. The track includes steps and is not suitable for wheelchairs. From the lookout, visitors can watch for humpback whales offshore during their winter and spring migration. The lookout can also be reached as a return option from the Oceanview track, a 1.2km one-way Grade 2 walk around the headland that is wheelchair-accessible with assistance. A picnic area and toilets are near the northern entrance on Goodwin Terrace, with more toilets in the southern car park. Pets, bicycles and fires are not allowed in the park, and parts of the tracks can close after severe weather, so check park alerts first.
