A 4km (about 2 hour) rainforest loop in Springbrook National Park that goes right behind two waterfalls and through ancient rock clefts - the standout hinterland hike near the Gold Coast for families with kids old enough for a real walk. Longer and more involved than the coastal walks, but the payoff (walking behind actual waterfalls) is hard to match. What to Bring Sturdy shoes (can be slippery near the falls), water, snacks A change of clothes if kids want to get close to the spray Best Age Range 6-17 - this is a genuine 2-hour hike with some steps and uneven ground, better suited to primary-school-aged kids and up than toddlers. Good to Know Free, no booking, open access. About a 50-minute drive inland from the Gold Coast beaches - best paired with a full hinterland day rather than a quick stop.
